THULE

Thule Air Base is situated in the North-western corner of Greenland. The base
itself is built in a valley, surrounded by mountains to the North and the South,
the Icecap to the East and the world's northernmost deep-water harbour to the West.
The entire area is classified as an 'arctic desert', which means that downpour
is pretty scarce and the air humidity is extremely low. The good thing about
this low humidity is, naturally, that you don't feel the cold quite so much as
in humid areas like Denmark or the UK, so even at temperatures at 60 below
(centigrade)it is actually possible to go outside.
